Two 28mm mounted Samurai archers depicted shooting bows from horseback. The figures provide a useful alternative to yari-armed cavalry and are ideal for representing the long tradition of mounted archery among Japan’s Samurai warriors.
Archery from horseback was an important martial skill for the Samurai long before the mass use of firearms on Japanese battlefields. Even during the Sengoku period, the bow remained an important weapon and mounted archers could provide mobility and missile support alongside other Samurai cavalry and Ashigaru formations.
Each rider and horse is supplied as a one-piece casting, with separate heads and hands holding bows. The separate components allow some variation in appearance and make the figures easy to combine with the other mounted Samurai packs in the range.
Suitable for historical wargaming, Samurai armies, cavalry forces, skirmish games, collectors and dioramas.
Contains 2 x mounted 28mm metal miniatures with separate heads and hands/bows. Rider and horse are one-piece castings. Supplied unpainted and unassembled.
