Welcome to Athena Miniatures — where history meets heavy metal (well, 28mm pewter, to be precise).
We’re a small British company passionate about crafting finely detailed historical miniatures for discerning collectors, painters and tabletop warriors. Whether you’re recreating the Wars of the Roses, rallying your Landsknechts, or braving the post-apocalypse, we aim to provide figures full of character and authenticity.
Our mission? To bring a touch of the past to your painting desk — and maybe even your dining table, if you’re lucky enough to have one without drying laundry or board game boxes on it.
Who’s Behind It All?
Athena Miniatures is the creation of John Caboche, a lifelong wargamer, painter and proud miniature obsessive. After decades spent painting other people’s figures and muttering, “I could do better,” he finally did — and Athena was born.
When not covered in green stuff or negotiating with a particularly temperamental casting machine, John can be found at shows around the UK, happily chatting all things wargaming (especially if it involves obscure 15th-century battles or a good old-fashioned zombie uprising).
He’s supported behind the scenes by his wife, Caroline, who keeps the books balanced, the orders on track, and sometimes can also be found at shows (don't ask her any complicated miniatures questions ...)
Why Athena?
We’re named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and war — because it turns out, you need a bit of both to survive in the world of independent miniature manufacturing.
We believe in:
- Old-school quality – solid metal figures with crisp detail
- Personal service – real humans packing your orders
- Respect for history – and a healthy respect for chaos in fantasy
Thanks for visiting. Whether you’re new to the hobby or have been collecting since the days of lead rot and enamel paints, we’re glad to have you here.
Now go forth and conquer your lead pile .... (or add to it by buying some of our figures!)
