Armies of the Wars of the Roses depended on far more than fighting men. Servants, labourers, craftsmen and other camp followers helped move food, fuel, equipment and baggage, while wheelbarrows and handcarts were invaluable around camps, towns and siege works.

John, however, has ambitions beyond shifting supplies. Always singing a happy song as he works, he dreams of becoming a mummer and swapping his wheelbarrow for a life of performance and entertainment.

This 28mm vignette is ideal for adding life and humour to a medieval camp, baggage train, village or siege scene, and John also makes an excellent civilian character or objective for narrative games.
