Four 28mm Samurai armed with a mixture of bows and teppo matchlock firearms, shown in standing and kneeling firing poses. The figures are supplied with separate heads, which may vary from those shown in the photograph, allowing additional variety when building larger Samurai forces.
Although Samurai are often represented as swordsmen and close-combat warriors, they were also trained in the use of missile weapons. Archery remained an important martial skill, while firearms became increasingly significant during the Sengoku period. These figures are therefore ideal for representing Samurai using ranged weapons alongside Ashigaru troops.
The set is particularly useful for siege games, defensive positions and skirmish scenarios, where Samurai could be represented firing from walls, fortifications or other protected positions. They can also be mixed with Ashigaru archers and teppo troops to create more varied battlefield units.
Suitable for historical wargaming, Samurai armies, siege games, skirmish games, collectors and dioramas.
Contains 4 x 28mm metal miniatures with separate heads and ranged weapons. Supplied unpainted and unassembled. Heads supplied may vary from those shown in the photograph.
