The Apocalypse Survivors – British Army IED Team contains three modern British Army personnel accompanied by four working dogs, providing a distinctive specialist unit for contemporary and post-apocalyptic tabletop games.

Improvised explosive devices became a major threat to military personnel during recent conflicts, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan. British forces employed specialist search personnel, detection equipment and military working dogs to help identify potential threats and protect troops operating on foot or in vehicles. Dogs were particularly valuable because of their highly developed sense of smell and ability to search areas that would otherwise require painstaking investigation.

This 28mm set captures that specialist role with a soldier using detection equipment, together with military personnel and working dogs. In an Apocalypse Survivors setting, the figures can take on an even wider range of roles: searching abandoned roads and buildings, checking a refugee camp or military position, investigating suspicious objects, or accompanying survivors through dangerous territory.

The figures also work well in modern military games and make useful characters for checkpoints, patrols, search teams, abandoned bases and narrative scenarios.
